It centers around the idea that while the Primordial Dragons (Tiamat, Bahamut, and Sardior) fought The โ€œWar Bringer Godsโ€ from the outer planes for control of the material plane (at this point one world, pre multiverse) That they all used up thier resources and needed to take a โ€œlong restโ€ but for gods a long rest might be hundreds or thousands of years. The main conflict starts when the โ€œWar Bringer Godsโ€ begin to wake up in various areas and the players, unknowingly and simply following an old prophecy, must embark on a mission to wake up the primordial dragons to try and save their world. Inevitably it still results in the creation of the multiverse but the players control exactly why and how that happens through their actions and decisions. ๐Ÿ’ŽFollow for more info about The First World and other game modules.
